Finger licking good, sweet and savory, this thumbs up shrimp dish will satisfy your sweet tooth cravings while enjoying the fruits of the sea. Inspired by 'Walnut Shrimp', my version is sans Walnut just because I'm not as fond of nuts in my savory food, and the shrimp can be a versatile companion to any dish such as a salad topping. The best part is you only need several common ingredients and the prep to cook time is less than 30 minutes!

 Total Time : 30 Minutes
 Course: Entree
 Serving: 2

Ingredients

8 pieces raw shrimp (13/15 size), about 2 cups, peeled and deveined
2 tsp The Pantry Club "Sesame Garlic Mix", alternatively you can use garlic powder and crushed sesame seeds
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
5 tbsp potato starch
2 cups of canola oil

5 tbsp mayonnaise
3 tbsp condensed milk
1 tbsp honey
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp lemon zest
1 tbsp chopped green onions for garnish

How to make it?

1. Heat the canola oil in a frying pot or a wok to 375 degrees F.

2. Combine the shrimp and dry seasonings in a mixing bowl. Once the seasoning mixture is evenly distributed, coat the shrimp mixture in potato starch.

3. Drop the shrimps into the hot oil. Fry for about 2 minutes. Then strain the oil on a rack or a paper towel. Let it sit while you make the sauce.

4. Mix the the mayonnaise, condensed milk, honey, lemon juice, and lemon zest in a mixing bowl.

5. Combine the popcorn shrimp and the sauce mixture in the mixing bowl. Gently stir and flip the shrimp with a fork.

4. Plate with salad leaves or enjoy with a bowl of rice!
