Short Rib Beef Jerky (Air Fryer)

The best kind of snacks are usually the salty ones and this subtle marbling of short rib is the perfect vehicle to create a taste-bud bedazzling beef jerky that will keep you coming for more. Inspired by Ninja Air Fryer original beef jerky recipe, this reduced sodium version (let's be cognizant of our blood pressure here) is effortless in execution. The marinade should thoroughly coat each thinly slice of beef and impart a well balanced flavor profile.

Short Rib Beef Jerky (Air Fryer)

Prep Time: 10 min
Marinade Time: 8 hr
Cook Time: 5 hr
Course: Snack
Serving Size: 2

Ingredients

1/2 lb boneless beef short ribs or kalbi, thinly sliced in long strips

Marinade
2 tbsp soy sauce (low sodium)
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp dark brown sugar
1 tbsp ground black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp paprika or korean red chili peppers
1 1/2 tsp salt

How to make it?

1. In a mixing bowl, mix together all the marinade ingredients until the dark brown sugar is completely dissolved.

2. Combine the marinade and the beef in a sandwich plastic bag. Refrigerate for at least 8 hours.

3. Set the air fryer setting to Dehydrate, temperature at 150F, and timer to 5 hours.

4. Strain the beef from the marinade and spread each slice of the beef in the air fryer basket. Do not overlap the slices of beef and use the crisper plate if required for additional surface area.

5. Start the program and check at the 5 hours mark. If the texture is still too tender for your liking, continue cooking at the same temperature setting until desired texture is reached.

6. Enjoy as a snack or a side accompaniment to rice porridge.

Air fryers today are almost everywhere in kitchens because of their convenience and speed. I really enjoy using this device. It is very easy to use and works extremely well. I made the beef jerky, very tasty.
