A hearty soup to give you comfort on one of those days, this french onion soup is easy to make and satisfying. The onions slowly releases its juice while simmering and imparts a naturally sweetened base. Then we finished the soup by submerging pieces of baguettes and top it off with shredded mozzarella and Swiss cheese for a stringy and cheesy bite. It is best enjoyed with a couple pieces of freshly toasted baguette to soak up more of the cheesy delicious goodness and a refreshing salad to contrast the rich flavors of the soup.

If you haven't heard, Brown Sugar flavored milk tea is all the rave. The dark molasses flavor captivated the bubble tea enthusiasts and you will find every bubble tea house featuring this sweet tooth drink. Well, we've also been really crazy over Oatly because of its rich mouthfeel and delicious flavor but reduced the calories when compared against whole milk. And so, we thought why not create our favorite milk tea with oat-milk? Plus, making it at home means you can control the sugar level and we definitely like our drinks to be mildly sweetened. So skip the commute to Chinatown or wherever the tea house maybe and try your hands on this easy to follow 10 minutes simple recipe. Note: We have not include the tapioca bubbles, but you may add them at your leisure. Also, we're trying to make this easy to prep so we suggest using the microwave to speed up the process. While Korean music is becoming mainstream in the states, appearing in the billboard charts and even on Conan O'Brien's show, Korean food is still slowly making it's way into the melting pot of American food scene. There are famous Bloggers like Maangchi who is introducing Korean staple recipes to the globe. Her collection of recipes is so vast that sometimes I would get confused on where to start. What I'm trying to do here is introduce you to 6 simple Banchan recipes that I've either adapted or created based on what I've tasted at various Korean restaurants. Not all Korean food is great, but there are hidden gems that could even help with your Sunday meal prep as these dishes will last for a week! Furthermore, these selected banchans are great to store in the fridge and can be eaten cold or at room temperature. Just need some hot rice or hot soup to accompany these flavorful side dishes. In fact, you can make your own Bibimbap, a popular Korean rice bowl, with all of the banchans here. Enjoy! Recipes in this post: 1) Garlic Spinach 2) Fresh Baby Bok Choy and Zucchini Kimchi 3) Zucchini and Red Bell Peppers 4) Bean Sprouts and Jalapenos 5) Pickled Cucumber 6) Braised Potatoes with Korean Chili Mediterranean style food has been one of our favorite to dine as the diet is normally composed of vibrant vegetables and lean grill meat. With the Chicago winter still mulling about, we find ourselves needing to break away from the cold weather food staples of heavy soups and change up the atmosphere with a healthier meal option. There were quite a number of big events in our lives that prevented us from having the time to add content to the website for the past year (life happens!) But now, we are back in full swing with tasty treats of great recipes and restaurant reviews. |
